As our Assistant Management Accountant, you join our supportive, hardworking Management Accounts team and be part of the wider finance Department, you'll report into the Finance Business Partner.
What you’ll be doing:- Supporting NPL departments with financial reporting activity and producing reports to keep them on track
- Working closely with Group Leaders and Project Managers to produce invaluable financial performance information, such as monthly group and department management accounts.
- Leading the annual budget and periodic forecasts – challenging the quality and integrity of the data, raising any areas of concern and putting forward possible solutions.
- Supporting the Finance Business Partner in their daily tasks including analysis and reporting
- Continuous review of project cost and revenue allocation and escalate as necessary.
- Analysis of financial data and production of management accounting information for the business.
Whilst you'll be focused on providing financial support, a key part of the role involves building good relationships to maximise business partnering opportunities too. You will also help with training – not just for the finance tools and systems that the team will need to use, but you’ll take responsibility for providing guidance, training, and development of the Finance Technician in the team.
This role is known internally as 'Assistant Finance Manager'
About You
As a finance professional, you need to be able to communicate complex financial information in an easy-to-understand way – both written and verbally, to improve the understanding of key drivers of performance, particularly across the larger, more complex projects within the portfolio
What you can bring to the role:
- Experience working in a Management Accounting team/role.
- Part qualified accountant or equivalent
- Confident, proactive individual with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to improve the impact, and understanding, of financial reporting on performance across the portfolio.
- Ensure adherence to accounting rules, procedures, and timescales.
- Able to communicate effectively to stakeholders across multiple levels.
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- D365 experience desirable
