English Teacher | Dynamic & High-Achieving Secondary...
CORE PURPOSE
We are seeking an articulate, passionate English Teacher to deliver high-quality English Language and English Literature instruction across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, with opportunities to teach A-Level English Literature or Language at Key Stage 5. The successful candidate will foster a deep appreciation for literature, critical thinking, and written expression, driving excellent academic progress and literacy across all pupil cohorts.

KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS
Curriculum Delivery: Plan and deliver engaging, rigorous English Language and Literature lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, fostering analytical depth and creative confidence.
Examination Preparation: Prepare students for GCSE examinations, embedding key textual knowledge, essay structures, and contextual analysis.
Literacy & Reading Development: Champion whole-school literacy initiatives, promoting wider reading habits and targeted vocabulary acquisition.
Assessment & Tracking: Conduct regular formative and summative assessments, utilizing departmental data tools to track pupil progress and implement timely interventions.
Pastoral Duties: Serve as a dedicated Form Tutor, supporting students' academic and personal development while building strong relationships with parents and guardians.
PROFILE REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in English Literature, English Language, Creative Writing, or a closely related discipline.
Experience: Open to experienced teachers with a strong track record of GCSE results, as well as Early Career Teachers (ECTs) looking for a structured, supportive induction framework.
Skills: Strong literary subject knowledge, excellent classroom presence, refined communication skills, and a passion for developing critical thinking through texts.
