How you will Energise Our Team 🤝
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Field Agent to join our Collections Team at Valda Energy. The Field Agent will be responsible for conducting on-site visits to customers’ premises to recover outstanding payments, assess sites for disconnection purposes, verify customer details, and promote payment solutions. This role will cover postcodes across East and West London. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills, a firm but respectful approach, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment. The day-to-day responsibilities will involve:
- Conducting in-person visits to commercial properties to recover overdue accounts
- Engaging with customers to understand reasons for non-payment and offer appropriate payment solutions or settlement plans
- Issuing formal notices, arrange payment agreements, or escalate accounts for disconnection or legal proceedings where necessary
- Performing disconnections or reconnections in accordance with company policies and safety regulations
- Accurately documenting all field activities and customer interactions using mobile apps or reporting tools
- Verifying customer identity and account information to ensure data is kept up to date
- Reporting signs of energy theft, tampering or meter irregularities
- Maintaining a professional and safety-conscious approach at all times while representing the company in the field
- Collaborating with internal teams (e.g. billing and collections) for coordinated collections efforts)
The Spark we're Looking For 🔍
- Previous experience in a field-based role, ideally within the energy, utilities, engineering, or construction sectors
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, both verbally and written, and in a professional manner
- Confident speaking with customers and colleagues, explaining technical matters in a clear and friendly way
- Ability to work and deliver in a fast-paced environment with firm deadlines and demanding targets, showing ability to react to change and flexible approach to working hours
- Self-motivated and driven with a positive attitude - and a desire to self-develop
- Working alone, the individual will need to organise their workload to maximise their effectiveness
- Competent I.T. skills

- Subject to DBS and Credit checks
- Full clean driving licence required
