Ip Associate

An opportunity has arisen for an IP Associate to join a highly regarded intellectual property practice with a strong reputation for handling complex, high-profile disputes. The role offers you the chance to work on sophisticated contentious matters for a varied client base, advising on some of the most challenging issues facing businesses in the intellectual property space.


This position will be primarily focused on patent litigation, providing you with the opportunity to develop your experience across complex disputes while working alongside experienced practitioners on significant matters. There will also be scope to gain exposure to other areas of contentious intellectual property work, including trade marks, designs and copyright.

This opportunity would suit a solicitor with 2-4 years’ PQE who is keen to build a career in contentious IP, take on greater responsibility and develop their technical expertise within an established practice.



Key responsibilities

• Advising on and assisting with complex patent litigation matters
• Supporting the preparation and management of contentious IP cases, from initial strategy through to resolution
• Conducting legal research, preparing pleadings and drafting key litigation documents
• Assisting with disputes involving other intellectual property rights, including trade marks, designs and copyright
• Working closely with colleagues and clients to develop effective litigation strategies and deliver commercially focused advice
• Building strong client relationships while contributing to the wider contentious IP practice

Requirements

• Qualified solicitor with 2–4 years’ PQE
• Experience in intellectual property disputes, with a particular interest in patent litigation
• Strong legal research, drafting and analytical skills
• The ability to manage complex matters and work effectively as part of a team
• A commercially minded approach, with strong communication skills and a desire to develop within contentious intellectual property law
