Reporting Analyst
JOB SUMMARY
The role serves as a key partner to merchandise analyst, working collaboratively to consolidate insights and provide the Director and Heads of Merchandising with a single source of truth and a comprehensive, big-picture view of the business. This position plays a critical role in aligning data and strategic analysis to support informed decision-making, drive performance, and enhance overall merchandising effectiveness.
KEY RESPONSIBLITIES
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with all divisions across the Wholly Owned Business and Joint Ventures to gather and consolidate key company information.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders across both WOB, Beauty and Joint Ventures and Next operational functions.
- Support the Merchandise Analyst in identifying and progressing opportunities for collaboration between WOB, Beauty and Joint Ventures and Next to improve and innovate business processes.
- Engage with users and internal teams to create and refine processes, documents, and systems that enhance operational efficiency.
- Oversee the markdown process from start to finish, including the creation of templates, coordination with relevant teams, and communication of roll-ups.

Reporting and Tool building
- Create, amend and maintain PowerBI reports based on the needs of the business.
- Support the Merchandise Analyst in identifying current challenges, pressure points, and resource constraints to inform new ways of working.
- Assist with the creation of detailed project plans, manage timelines, and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
- Create initiatives & user stories to meet evolving user and business needs.
- Monitor and evaluate newly implemented processes, propose refinements, and take ownership of resolving issues arising during testing and rollout.
- Train relevant team members on new systems, processes, and tools.
- Develop and maintain clear, user-friendly reference documentation to support process adoption.
- Lead or support the testing of new processes and reporting tools, identifying areas for improvement.
- Troubleshoot issues raised during implementation and proactively address them.
- Monitor processes post-implementation to ensure continued effectiveness and relevance.
Process Improvement & Change Management
- Continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of processes across the business, ensuring they are fit for purpose.
- Challenge existing and proposed ways of working to drive better results.
- Assist in the planning, implementation, and rollout of new systems and processes, considering timelines, risk, and impact on the business.
- Support cross-functional projects that drive growth, efficiency, or sales.
- Create and maintain process documentation including “as-is” and “to-be” process flows.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and identify practical solutions
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation and analysis
- Confident in challenging established ways of thinking to drive continuous improvement
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple deadlines

- Effective communication skills — written, verbal, and active listening

- Proactive in conducting research and identifying opportunities to improve business performance

- Comfortable working in fast-paced, high-pressure environments while maintaining quality and accuracy
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with SQL for data querying and analysis
- Proficiency in Power BI for building and visualizing dashboards and reports
- Familiarity with Excel Macros for process automation and efficiency improvements
- Understanding of the retail merchandising lifecycle, from product selection to exit strategy
