Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week
Salary: £25,000 - £28,000 per annum
Shifts: 5 days a week
We are seeking enthusiastic, caring, and experienced individuals who would enjoy the challenge of working as a health care assistant. The post holder will provide patient-centred and compassionate care and will work as a member of a team that delivers clinical care under the supervision of registered nursing staff as part of the theatre team at a private hospital in central London. You will be working within a surgical environment with and leading Surgeons. However, experience in a theatre setting is desirable but not essential.
Responsibilities of the role:
- Assist the registered nurses and theatre team in the delivery of patient care.
- Assist with the preparation and delivery of beverages, assisting patients as requested
- Adhere to strict compliance with the hospitals Infection Control policies and procedures.
- Participate in the admission process of patients as directed by the registered nurse
- Assist the registered nurse / professional in the delivery of patient care – pre, peri and post procedures, as required
- Communicate effectively with patients / carers to ensure patients are kept well informed of any changes or delays
- Undertake and record blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, urine analysis, weight, height, reporting any abnormalities to the nurse / professional in charge
- Collect and escort patients and assisting with transferring of the patient from trolley to table under supervision of trained staff.
- Support with the cleaning of theatre and recovery areas before and after operating sessions, also adhering to the hospitals cleaning schedules.
- Stocking of cupboards and stock containers against agreed stock levels.
- Assisting with the safe positioning of patient on operating table.
- Acting as circulating person for the theatre team and within the scope of the role.
What you’ll bring:
- 2 years’ experience working as a Healthcare assistant
- Health care assistant experience in an hospital environment (desirable but not essential)
- Knowledge of Computer Systems, Microsoft, Outlook,
- Knowledge of infection prevention control knowledge.
- Positive, can-do attitude, with the ability to work proactively on your own initiative while collaborating effectively as part of a team.
