This role provides specialist expertise in international tax, transfer pricing, tax controversy, and corporate restructuring activities, while partnering with senior leaders to deliver commercially focused solutions and support strategic business growth.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of existing transfer pricing policies, recommending modifications and enhancements to reflect changes in business operations and regulatory requirements.

  • Support regional finance teams in managing tax audits, enquiries, disputes, and tax controversy matters across multiple jurisdictions.

  • Partner with the Global Compliance and Reporting Director to ensure tax positions are appropriately reflected within tax reporting, tax compliance filings, and transfer pricing documentation.

  • Monitor global tax developments and international tax reform initiatives, assessing business impact and ensuring compliance with evolving requirements.

  • Support the implementation of the Group’s international tax strategy while ensuring alignment with commercial objectives and risk management principles.

M&A and restructuring

  • Lead tax workstreams on mergers, acquisitions, divestments, and restructuring initiatives across the Mundipharma network.

  • Provide tax structuring advice to support transaction planning and execution.

  • Support tax due diligence activities, identifying key risks, opportunities, and mitigation actions.

  • Collaborate with Finance, Legal, Corporate Development, and external advisors to deliver tax-efficient transaction outcomes.

  • Evaluate legal entity structures and recommend optimisations that support business objectives while managing tax risk.

Project management and transformation

  • Lead and manage complex tax projects, including system implementations, process improvements, restructuring programmes, and regulatory-driven initiatives.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the tax function to enhance efficiency, governance, and control frameworks.

  • Support the adoption of digital solutions and technology-enabled processes that improve tax reporting, compliance, and data management capabilities.

  • Ensure projects are delivered effectively, managing timelines, stakeholders, risks, and dependencies.

Stakeholder engagement and business partnering

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across Finance, Legal, Treasury, Corporate Development, and regional business teams.

  • Serve as a key point of contact for senior stakeholders on international tax matters and strategic projects.

  • Develop productive relationships with external advisors, tax authorities, and other key stakeholders.

  • Translate complex tax technical matters into clear commercial recommendations and business outcomes.

  • Influence cross-functional stakeholders and contribute to strategic decision-making across the organisation.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, Tax, or a related discipline.

  • Professional qualification such as ICAEW, ICAS, CIOT, or equivalent.

  • Demonstrable progressive international tax experience gained within a multinational organisation, Big Four advisory firm, or similar environment.

  • Strong understanding of international tax principles and transfer pricing concepts, including experience implementing transfer pricing policies.

  • Experience supporting M&A transactions, restructurings, and tax due diligence activities.

  • Extensive knowledge of UK direct tax and international tax regimes.

  • Ability to communicate complex tax matters clearly and translate technical issues into practical business recommendations.

  • Strong stakeholder management and business partnering capabilities.

  • Experience influencing senior stakeholders and working effectively across global, cross-functional teams.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to demanding timelines.

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience would be advantageous.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and presentation skills.

  • High attention to detail and a rigorous approach to decision-making.

  • Comfortable operating in a complex and evolving global environment.

  • High levels of integrity, accountability, and professionalism.

What we offer in return

  • Opportunities for learning and development through our varied programme.
