Our thriving M&E Engineering team are currently looking for a Senior or Associate Engineer to join our us, working hand in hand with our FM Consultancy and Operational M&E engineers. You will be based in our newly fitted out London office opposite St Paul’s, to cover a variety of exciting engineering consultancy across a variety of building sectors.

This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strong analytical skills, and client-facing communication to deliver measurable improvements across sectors such as commercial, industrial, high-end residential and retail/leisure.

As part of Hollis’ Operational Engineering team, you will get valuable exposure to all aspects of MEP Consultancy and in particular you may have some FM Consultancy skills so that you can provide a joined up service to clients. You can work on unique projects and alongside some of our most forward-thinking minds. If you’re not chartered through a professional body already, Hollis is CIBSE accredited and can offer extensive experience assisting engineers through their chartership and membership routes and will ensure you’re able to achieve your career aspirations.

Responsibilities

  • Support clients by advising on efficiency of their M&E systems through surveys, reports, contractor management and other technical specifications

  • Project manage a variety of maintenance focussed M&E projects, including plant and chiller replacements along with other fitout and refurbishment work across commercial real estate sectors

  • Utilise M&E design skills: understanding and integrating M&E systems facilitating/translating into various projects as per client requirements

  • Support and mentor junior engineers and graduates

  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., our in-house ESG and Building Physics teams) and external stakeholders (e.g., asset and property managers).

  • Create clear, actionable technical reports, business cases, and client presentations.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards (e.g., CRREM, CIBSE, GREEB, etc.) and support ESG reporting.

Extended responsibilities:

  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance CAPEX reports

  • Management of projects and acting as project lead

  • Support internal M&E team with the delivery of maintenance led projects and our FM Consultancy team to ensure client satisfaction through high quality execution of planned/reactive maintenance work

  • Input into innovation; continual improvement of services and products

  • Supporting the wider teams providing technical support and maintenance management duties

  • Meet target KPIs on WIP management including HIW

  • Business Development and Client Care awareness, cross-selling of Hollis’ services and effectively managing relationships

  • Opportunity to manage and mentor graduates and junior engineers

Your Profile Experience

  • Relevant engineering degree, inclusive of building services modules or equivalent education/practical experience

  • Relevant experience in building optimisation, ESG, energy or sustainability consulting

  • In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, BMS operations/Control, building physics, and low-carbon technologies.

  • Familiarity with industry standards and guidelines (e.g., CIBSE, CREEM, GREEB).

  • Understanding of UK & Ireland building regulations and Net Zero/ESG goals.

  • Excellent report writing and communication skills are required and the ability to liaise professionally with clients and colleagues is essential

  • Client facing with excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Proficient in MS Office packages

  • Knowledge of MS Projects, IES, MBS advantageous

  • Understanding of JCT contracts, additionally beneficial to understand NEC, Bluebeam and Auto CAD
