Student Success Marketing and Communications Assistant
This offers an exciting opportunity to support the promotion of the Progression Pathways Programme's digital presence and student-facing communications. The focuses on creating engaging content, managing social media platforms, and supporting marketing activities to increase awareness, participation, and impact among Black and Mixed Heritage students.
Working collaboratively with programme staff and stakeholders across the university, the holder will contribute to the development of inclusive, student-centred messaging, produce case studies and programme materials, and analyse engagement data to inform future communications. This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing and communications while contributing to a meaningful initiative aimed at improving student success and reducing attainment gaps.

Duties and responsibilities
Over the course of the placement, the student will:
Manage and enhance the programme's online presence, including scheduling and publishing LinkedIn posts, building connections, and securing endorsements
Develop case studies with current students for use in future marketing materials
Collaborate with student communications assistants across the programme
Work with the Brand team to produce posters and digital screen content for 2026/27 events across all campuses
Compile event listings with engaging s
Analyse performance and engagement metrics across the newsletter, LinkedIn, and Career Hub
Support the development of the 2026/27 Communications Plan, including the Tooting campus
Compile a short summary presentation and recommendations report, presenting findings to the team
Skills and experience
Core Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Digital literacy and confidence using online platforms
Creativity in content creation and audience engagement
Basic data analysis skills, such as interpreting engagement metrics
Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders and manage tasks independently
Desirable Experience:
Prior experience in marketing, communications, or social media (paid or voluntary)
Familiarity with LinkedIn as a platform for professional content and networking
Experience using content creation tools such as Canva
Additional Desirable Criteria:
A student currently part of the Progression Pathways Programme
Students who identify as Black or Mixed Heritage
