A welcoming Secondary School in Harrow is looking to appoint an organised and enthusiastic School Librarian to manage its library and support students with their independent learning. The school provides a supportive environment where students are encouraged to develop their knowledge, access learning resources and make the most of the facilities available to them.
The Role
The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day running of the school library, ensuring books and resources are organised, accessible and well maintained. Responsibilities will include managing book loans and returns, updating library records, assisting students with finding resources and maintaining a quiet, productive study environment. The librarian will also help with stock management, organise displays and work with teachers to ensure students can access suitable materials for their studies.
Requirements
Applicants should have strong organisational and communication skills, confidence using computers and an interest in working with young people. Previous library, administrative or school-based experience would be advantageous. The successful candidate should be approachable, reliable and able to encourage students to use the library responsibly.
