Finance Assistant
About the role
We’re looking for an Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day running of the finance function in a growing startup. This is a hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys variety and wants to develop their skills in a fast-paced environment.
Key responsibilities
Processing purchase invoices (AP) and ensuring timely approvals
Managing supplier payments and weekly payment runs
Posting and reconciliation of credit cards and expenses
Supporting bank reconciliations and monitoring cash flow
Assisting with month-end processes (accruals, prepayments, journals)
Maintaining accurate records in the finance system currently xero but transitioning to Sage Intacct
Supporting expenses processing and payroll admin (if required)
Helping improve finance processes as the business scales
What we’re looking for
1–3 years’ experience in a similar Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant role
Good understanding of AP/AR processes
Strong attention to detail and organisation skills
Comfortable using Excel and accounting software (e.g. Xero, Sage)
Proactive, reliable, and willing to get stuck in
Studying AAT (or interested in starting) is a plus
