Early Years SEND Teaching Assistant

Protocol Education
Merton, Greater London

Ready to bring your energy and experience to an Early Years classroom? Apply today and let’s get you started after half term.

Are you the kind of person who can turn story time into an adventure, and make phonics feel like play? We’re looking for a passionate and proactive Early Years Teaching Assistant to join a warm, supportive school community after half term.

This full-time role is perfect for someone with Early Years experience who loves getting stuck in, building strong connections with little learners, and helping them take their first big steps in education.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting children in the Early Years Foundation Stage with their learning, play, and development
  • Creating a nurturing environment where every child feels safe, encouraged, and ready to explore
  • Working closely with teachers to bring lessons to life and spark curiosity
  • Being that steady, friendly presence children (and staff!) can rely on every day

What we’re looking for:

  • Previous Early Years experience (essential)
  • A proactive, engaging, and hands-on approach
  • Someone who’s full-time available, Monday to Friday
  • A team player who’s as comfortable singing nursery rhymes as supporting early literacy and numeracy

Why you’ll love this role:

This isn’t just about being in the classroom, it’s about being part of children’s earliest learning experiences—the moments that shape confidence, independence, and a love for school.

What’s in it for you (with Protocol Education):

  • Weekly pay through PAYE – no umbrella companie
  • FREE access to our online CPD Academy (including Early Years and Thrive training)
  • Personalised support from a dedicated consultant who gets to know you
  • Opportunities across mainstream, SEND, and alternative settings
  • Referral rewards when you recommend a friend

Ready to bring your energy and experience to an Early Years classroom? Apply today and let’s get you started after half term.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see the FAQs on the Protocol Education website for further details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
