Vendor Contracts - Solicitor

OverviewJoin Gallagher as Legal Counsel and play a key role in managing legal risk, with a focus on technology and procurement agreements. You will draft, review, negotiate, and advise on a wide range of vendor contracts, including SaaS, consultancy, data provision, HR services, and data processing agreements. You will ensure regulatory compliance, mitigate legal risks, and align contract reviews with the objectives of internal stakeholders, such as Procurement, IT, and Data Protection teams.
In this role, you will act as a legal intermediary between the business and external counsel, managing engagements and budgets when required. Additionally, you will provide legal training to trainees, paralegals, and non-lawyers, while developing legal templates, playbooks, and efficiency initiatives to improve service delivery.
This role can be based remotely with occasional travel to London.
How you'll make an impact- Draft, review, and negotiate technology and vendor contracts, ensuring regulatory compliance and mitigating legal risks.
- Build strong relationships with internal teams, including Procurement, IT, and Data Protection, and manage external counsel engagements when necessary.
- Provide accurate and practical legal advice, reflecting English law, and deliver legal training to internal teams.
- Develop legal templates, guidance notes, and playbooks, and leverage Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) and AI tools to enhance efficiency.
- Stay informed about changes in laws affecting vendor contracts, including data protection, financial services regulation, and AI laws.
- Qualified solicitor or barrister.
- Proven experience as a commercial contracts lawyer, either in-house or in private practice.
- Broad knowledge of IT contracts and vendor agreements.
- Basic understanding of Data Protection and GDPR.
- Experience influencing internal and external stakeholders.
- Eligiable right to work in the UK.
