Product Owner (FMAR)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Product Owner (Grade 11) to join the Data & Analytics Team on a permanent basis. This role will be working specifically on the FMAR solution.

Team Overview:
The Data & Analytics team is responsible for delivering comprehensive data management and analytics services to Elexon and the energy market. This team will lead Elexon's data strategy and governance initiatives, ensuring robust data security and compliance standards are maintained.

The function is also accountable for the development and the delivery of a number of data products/platforms (e.g. DIP, DAH, DAP) capable to ingest, store, process, analyse and share data seamlessly within the organisation and with external stakeholders.

Job Purpose:
The Product Owner is accountable for delivering customer value. They do this by defining and prioritising product features and user stories, collaborating with cross functional teams, and ensuring their product aligns with both strategic goals and customer needs.

The Product Owner will be accountable for the delivery of the FMAR solution, from early stage design through to Service management and support post go live.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the product backlog/s, making critical decisions, and working closely with stakeholders to deliver successful products/s supporting Elexon’s Services and Value Streams.
• Utilise, support and where appropriate, lead within the existing governance structures
• Managing, communicating with and aligning stakeholders working alongside the Programme Manager
• Use best practice management of Risks, blockers and dependencies as well as any business impacts of the implementation
• Manage product/s roadmaps and backlogs, prioritising defects, features, and technical debt tasks, in alignment with Service requirements, Industry and Programme change requirements, and Elexon's strategic objectives 
• Accountable for Business cases, ensuring they follow Elexon governance and best practice standards, demonstrating expected outcomes and benefits, including the creation and ownership of benefit realisation plan 
• Accountable for Stakeholder Management of internal and external customers (Product Owners, Service Owners, Participants, Regulatory bodies) in matters relating to the technical products they own 
• Work closely to the product delivery team/s, inputting and leading (where appropriate) all relevant Agile ceremonies  
• Accountable for defining and owning the Product’s vision and strategy, accounting for cross product dependencies 
• Accountable for Elexon’s product strategy by creating common practices, knowledge sharing forums, communities across Elexon to remove barriers across products 
• Accountable for best practice recording of Epics, Features and User Stories in Azure DevOps 
• Contributes to the continuous improvement of Product Delivery Team velocity and efficiency 
• Accountable for accuracy in sizing of Epics (ROM) and Features 
• Must continuously develop your own knowledge of owned Products and customer use cases, value definition and realisation 
• Planning, scheduling, and delivering the solution. Enabling the team to successfully meet the objectives of any change through transparent stakeholder management
• Enable transparent understanding of progress against commitments by creating and informing ceremonies and tools for status communication
