About Us:
THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF MR K’s RECOVERY
Adult Social Care in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories, where our passionate, caring and committed professionals do brilliant work every day. A globe-trotting tourist called Mr K had a stroke. Hospitalised and very vulnerable, we put a unique plan together for him. He wanted to travel to Germany, but he wasn’t well enough. We placed Mr K in one of the borough’s commissioned care home services to recover. Initially he was unhappy not being in his own home, but stakeholders within Adult Social Care and the Provider service worked hard to engage him in the service. Ultimately Mr K had a very positive experience within the year he spent service being supported to achieve his recovery. As he was recovering, as part of supporting digital inclusion and harnessing technology, Adult Social Care staff organised him an iPad and a phone to help him manage his finances and arrange his next trip. This enabled him to book his tickets to Germany. ‘Auf wiedersehen’ and he was gone! The Role:
As a Senior Delivery Manager for the Directorate for Integrated Commissioning Adult Social Care (ASC) and Public Health (PH) you can make you own powerful contribution to Westminster’s success.
We play a vital role in developing high quality, diverse care and support services for our residents, with a strong focus on maximising wellbeing and helping people to remain independent and healthier for longer. When you join us you’ll provide the Directorate with highly effective Agile programme management. Leading and managing the team of officers responsible for overseeing the service delivery of our transformation programmes, you’ll ensure that progress and issues are reported, and our capacities are understood and successfully deployed to meet need. Another important part of your work will involve the development, design, management and implementation of Agile frameworks and processes that manage and report on activities in the Directorate. We’ll also expect you to manage departmental, corporate and national reporting requirements, work with key stakeholders on the delivery of design and commissioning activities, and ensure compliance with national and local regulations, processes and procedures. You’ll have a wide range of additional responsibilities – these include tracking project processes, financials and the production of required deliverables, advising and reporting to Boards and sponsors on the status of activities, and managing delegated budgets, funding and resources. We’re committed to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion, so we’ll expect you to reflect these ideals in your day to day work, and encourage your team members to do the same. Please refer to the for more information.About You:
To be a success in this significant role you should have well developed experience of working in a commissioning setting, and a good understanding of commissioning and contract management activity.
It’s important that you have hands-on knowledge of different techniques such as Waterfall and Agile, and the ability to effectively manage, mentor and develop teams to adopt Agile within the context of commissioning management practices. Ideally, you’ll have applied Agile practice to various non-IT management processes. You will possess good knowledge of user-centred design principles, and be skilled at using these to implement positive, transformative change for our residents. You should also be capable of role modelling good resource management practice while leading high quality analytical and creative projects, and be ready to work collaboratively with a wide range of partners and stakeholders. It goes without saying that you’ll possess excellent project management and problem-solving abilities, and in addition to being a motivating team player with a strong customer focus, you’ll be an inspirational coach and mentor. Your superb written and verbal communication skills will allow you to interact with a diverse range of audiences and produce successful decision-making reports for our stakeholders. We’ll also expect you have the confidence to manage potentially complex and challenging conversations. When it comes to certifications we’d like to see leadership, management, ASC or health related qualifications or equivalent experience, while an Agile training qualification would be desirable.
