Privacy & AI Compliance Manager - London

At Trustpilot, we're on an incredible journey. We're a profitable, high-growth FTSE-250 company with a big vision: to become the universal symbol of trust. We run the world's largest independent consumer review platform, and while we've come a long way, there's still so much exciting work to do. Come join us at the heart of trust!

At Trustpilot, we know that privacy and AI compliance are more than regulatory requirements — they are the foundation of trust with our customers, partners, and people. We’re looking for a forward-thinking digital-native Privacy & AI Compliance Manager to take our Privacy & AI Compliance function to the next level, leveraging an AI-first approach to ensure we operate at the forefront of best-in-class data protection and responsible AI governance.

Sitting at the intersection of legal, security, and business operations, this role is central to safeguarding personal data, strengthening compliance processes, and embedding privacy & AI best practice across the company. You’ll manage a high-performing team, oversee regulatory obligations, and provide strategic and practical advice on privacy, data protection, and AI-related risks.

If you’re motivated by the challenge of operating in a fast-paced, global organisation, thrive on balancing strategy with hands-on problem solving, and want to play a key role in strengthening our foundation of trust — this role is for you.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead and mentor a team of privacy professionals, ensuring they deliver effectively against regulatory and business priorities
  • Take an AI-first approach to solving privacy and AI compliance challenges
  • Oversee data subject rights requests (DSARs, deletion, and other inquiries), ensuring timely and compliant responses
  • Conduct and review privacy risk assessments, DPIAs, and assurance audits — providing risk-based, practical guidance
  • Manage and evolve workflows, tools, and processes to ensure efficiency and continuous improvement
  • Lead the response to privacy incidents and data breaches — including investigation, documentation, and corrective actions
  • Partner with Security, Data Governance and AI Governance teams on controls frameworks, embedding privacy by design principles
  • Work cross-functionally with Legal, People, Marketing, and other functions to ensure privacy best practice is integrated throughout the business
  • Support the design and delivery of privacy training to enhance awareness and accountability across the organisation
  • Monitor regulatory developments across the UK, EU, US, and beyond, ensuring compliance with GDPR, PECR, CCPA, and emerging AI regulations

Who you are:

  • Proven people leader with strong experience in managing and developing privacy teams
  • Deep expertise in privacy and data protection, including DPIAs, ROPAs, retention processes, and privacy notices
  • Strong track record managing data subject rights and investigating privacy incidents or breaches
  • Knowledge of global privacy laws and ability to apply them pragmatically in a business context
  • AI-first digital native, experienced in leveraging AI and other forms of automation to improve the speed, efficiency and quality of delivery within the privacy AI compliance space
  • Familiar with delivering high level customer service through workflow tools (e.g. Zendesk, Salesforce, ServiceNow) and marketing/CRM platforms
  • Comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels — with a proactive, hands-on approach
  • Skilled communicator and influencer, able to engage stakeholders across jurisdictions and seniority levels
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and a passion for responsible use of data and AI
  • CIPP or other privacy qualifications desirable; experience in SaaS, marketplace, or listed companies a plus

What's in it for you:

  • A range of flexible working options to dedicate time to what matters to you
  • Competitive compensation package + bonus
  • Restricted Stock Units
  • 25 days holiday per year, increasing to 28 days after 2 years of employment
  • Two (paid) volunteering days a year to spend your time giving back to the causes that matter to you and your community
  • Rich learning and development opportunities supported through the Trustpilot Academy and Blinkist
  • Pension and life insurance
  • Health cash plan, online GP, 24/7, Employee Assistance Plan
  • Full access to Headspace, a popular mindfulness app to promote positive mental health
  • Paid parental leave
  • Season ticket loan and a cycle to work scheme
  • Central office location complete with table tennis, a gaming corner, coffee bars and all the snacks and refreshments you can ask for
  • Regular opportunities to connect and get to know your fellow Trusties, including company-wide celebrations and events, ERG activities and team socials.
  • Access to over 4,000 deals and discounts on things like travel, electronics, fashion, fitness, cinema discounts and more.
  • Independent financial advice and free standard professional mortgage broker advice
  • Tailored leadership development program consisting of workshops, coaching opportunities, and structured feedback mechanisms to enable world-class leadership

Still not sure?

We want to be a part of creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive world of work for all. We’re excited to hear about your experiences as well as how you will contribute to our working culture. So, even if you don’t feel you don't meet all the requirements, we'd still really like to hear from you!
