Senior Product Consultant (Armakuni Network - Contractor...
Senior Product Consultant
This isn't an advertisement for an immediate, full-time role. Instead, we are excited to invite talented Senior Product Consultants to join "Armakuni Network" – our strategic internal program designed to build a dynamic and readily available network of highly skilled contractors. The Armakuni Network program empowers us to rapidly deploy the precise talent our clients need, minimising delays and maximising engagement momentum for future project-based opportunities.
About Us
We are a team of experienced software engineers, product managers, and strategic leaders. We help complex organisations build high-performing, cross-functional teams and accelerate business outcomes through expert coaching, training, and consultancy.
We identify gaps in an organisation's product-engineering capability and transfer our skills, knowledge, and experience to foster sustainable change and continuous improvement. We embed our coaching consultants directly with clients to understand their challenges, accelerate delivery, and introduce effective ways of working. Our value is often in evolving human interactions, processes, methods, and mindsets within socio-technical cultures.
About The Role
As a Senior Product Consultant at Armakuni, you'll be a passionate advocate for product-centric approaches, empowering clients to transform their organisations and deliver exceptional value. You'll champion pragmatic product-engineering practices, fostering collaboration and dismantling silos between product and engineering. Your expertise will drive successful client engagements and contribute to the growth of Armakuni’s product capabilities.
This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact by delivering hands-on and strategic product coaching and consultancy. Your responsibilities will adapt to client needs. This could involve:
Designing and delivering bespoke, immersive training programmes on modern product-engineering practices.
Embedding within a client’s team to deliver value and coach them on improving product discovery, delivery and iteration processes.
Leading an Armakuni team on outcome-based product delivery projects, leveraging your experience to define product strategy, support solution design and iteratively implement changes that address complex business needs.
We foster collaboration and seek someone to bring significant product expertise to diverse engagements, from shifting to project-led to product-led operations to cloud engineering or upskilling individuals and teams. Continuous learning is a core principle at Armakuni, and we value variety for professional growth.
What You’ll Bring
The most important qualities we seek are a positive attitude and strong learning agility. You are bright, flexible, intellectually curious, self-aware, passionate about learning and sharing and possess a drive for continuous improvement. You'll demonstrate an aptitude for product development and delivery practices in technical environments.
We are technology and industry agnostic; the ability to adapt to new environments, navigate ambiguity, and learn quickly is highly advantageous. As a champion of modern working practices, you’ll have proven experience in agile environments and a thorough understanding of the benefits of approaches such as user-centred thinking, hypothesis-driven development, and working in the open by design.
You'll be self-sufficient, fully immersing yourself in client aims and demonstrating a high level of compassion. You will offer professional insight, ensuring client satisfaction while representing Armakuni's commercial interests.
Experience and Capability You’ll Bring
Strategic Product Leadership & User-Centric Expertise:
Proven ability to define product vision and strategy, manage roadmaps, and drive product success using OKRs and metrics.
Extensive expertise in product methodologies (e.g., vision, strategy, roadmaps, OKRs, metrics, hypothesis statements, user stories, prioritisation, discovery, user research, usability testing, and design thinking).
Deep understanding and practical application of user experience (UX) design principles.
Demonstrated proficiency in and passion for user research, usability testing, and crafting effective user stories.
Technical Proficiency:
Significant experience building software-enabled services, ideally in enterprise environments.
Familiarity with Cloud Native practices and principles (AWS, Azure, GCP), bonus points for experience with using AI.
Strong advocacy for good engineering practices (e.g., XP, Pair Programming, Test-Driven Development, Continuous Delivery, and security considerations).
Coaching, Consulting & Engagement Experience:
Proven ability to effectively engage client stakeholders, cultivate strong relationships, and lead and drive change.
Exceptional coaching, facilitation, and presentation skills.
Ability to translate client needs, identify and pursue sales/upselling opportunities.
Excellent communication (written and verbal) and creative problem-solving skills.
An analytical mindset, with data-informed decision-making abilities and a systems thinking approach.
Versatility, pragmatism, emotional intelligence, curiosity, persistence, resilience, and a collaborative approach are qualities and skills that will serve you well in this role.
