Do you enjoy working with tools, materials and practical projects? An Outstanding secondary school in Haringey is seeking a Design & Technology Technician to become an important part of its department this October.
You’ll work closely with teaching staff to make sure practical lessons are properly prepared and students have access to the equipment and resources they need. The role offers plenty of variety and would suit someone who enjoys being hands-on.
What You’ll Be Doing
Preparing practical lessons and workshop areas
Organising materials and resources for students
Setting up equipment before lessons
Supporting teachers during practical activities
Maintaining machinery, hand tools and workshop equipment
Managing department stock and consumables
Checking equipment and reporting maintenance issues
Ensuring safe working practices are followed
Helping maintain an efficient and well-organised workshop
The Person
We’re looking for someone practical, dependable and confident around workshop equipment. Previous DT, workshop, engineering, construction or technical experience would be useful.
You should have excellent attention to detail and understand the importance of maintaining a safe environment when working with machinery and tools. School experience is desirable but not essential.
