Oritain is a global leader in forensically verifying the origin of products and raw materials. Through our proprietary methodology we harness cutting edge science, advanced technology, and specialized services to empower the world’s leading brands to ensure product integrity, meet regulatory demands, and reduce the risk of fraud and unethical sourcing.

Harnessing science, technology and services, our mission is to create a community of origin verified buyers and suppliers, protecting our people and the planet. Through forensic origin verification, we empower brands to make positive changes across their supply chain- creating real change in our world.

About the Role

The Paralegal role at Oritain is a broad, substantive paralegal position sitting at the heart of our Legal function.

The role works directly with the Legal & Governance Counsel to manage the full commercial contracting lifecycle, support supplier and NDA management, and help build and operationalise a new contracting framework as the business scales.

The role is responsible for managing multiple moving parts simultaneously- commercial contracts, supplier agreements, NDAs, and legal operations- in a fast-moving environment where organisation, judgement, and initiative are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Contracting

• Manage the full contract lifecycle from intake to execution — drafting, redlining, tracking, and filing

• Support the Legal & Governance Counsel in operationalising the new contract playbook across all commercial contract types (services agreements, MSAs, pilot agreements, programme agreements)

• Drive contracting standardisation and control across the portfolio- aligning standard-form contracts and clause positions to Oritain’s product definitions to ensure consistency

• Ensure contracting operating windows are captured and applied consistently across all standard terms and conditions

• Maintain and update the contract repository and tracking log, ensuring visibility of key dates, renewals, and obligations

• Track contracting terms, expiration dates, and ongoing adherence- proactively flagging renewals, key milestones, and deviations for review;

• Prepare first drafts and standard-form redlines for lower-complexity contracts under supervision

• Coordinate cross-functionally to gather approvals, signatures, and instructions in line with the escalation framework

NDA Management

• Own the end-to-end NDA process- drafting, reviewing, negotiating minor points, tracking execution, and maintaining the NDA register

• Ensure all NDAs are consistent with Oritain's standard positions and flag deviations for legal review

• Maintain a live tracker of NDA counterparties, effective dates, and expiry / renewal windows

Supplier & Procurement Contracts

• Draft and review supplier and vendor agreements, services, and consultancy contracts

• Track supplier contract obligations, renewal dates, and key terms

• Flag any supplier terms that create risk or conflict with Oritain's standard contracting positions

Legal & Operations Admin

• Manage the legal inbox- triage, prioritise, and route incoming legal queries

• Maintain an organised and version-controlled legal document filing system

• Conduct legal research and prepare briefing notes on relevant legal and regulatory developments

• Support with the development of legal precedents, templates, and standard-form documents

Skills & Experience

Essential

• Experience in a paralegal, legal executive, or contracts role

• Demonstrable commercial contracting experience

• Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail

• Strong written communication

• Proactive and self-directed

• Confident in a fast-paced, scale-up environment

Desirable

• Experience with supplier or procurement contracts

• Law degree, GDL, LPC, or equivalent

• Sector background in supply chain, sustainability, or technology

Company Benefits

  • Hybrid working (minimum 3 days per week in our Farringdon office)

  • 35 days paid leave, inclusive of public holidays

  • Birthday off

  • Enhanced parental leave

  • Life insurance

  • Healthcare Cash Plan

  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)

  • Pension

  • Monthly Wellbeing Allowance

  • Breakfast, snacks, Friday lunch and barista coffee in the office

  • Learning portal with over 100,000 assets for professional development
