Studio Director
A new premium yoga studio is opening in Kensington, London, and the founder is looking for a highly experienced Studio Director to lead it from day one. This is a full-time, five-day-a-week role with direct ownership of the P&L, the team and the member experience, working side by side with the founder. It suits a polished, commercially sharp operator from hospitality, wellness or fitness who treats a business as their own and can represent the founder and the brand with complete confidence.
The Company
We are launching a new premium yoga studio in the heart of Kensington. Our aim is to bring together the warmth of a neighbourhood studio and the service standards of premium hospitality, and to build a community that people love returning to. We are building this business from the ground up, and we want an exceptional leader to build it with us.
The Basics
● Location: Kensington, London
● Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 per annum
● Hours: Full-time, five days per week
● Reports to: The Founder
The Opportunity
This is a rare chance to build a business from the ground up. The Studio Director will shape the studio’s culture and community and play a defining role in its success.
Working directly with the Founder, they will have the freedom and responsibility to run the studio as if it were their own. They will be the Founder’s right hand and the face of the studio, trusted to represent her and the brand to members, teachers, partners and the wider community. The role calls for commercial awareness and strong people skills, a real understanding of hospitality and wellness, and a hands-on approach. They will be as comfortable managing budgets and financial performance as they are leading a team, building partnerships and creating an exceptional member experience.
The Role
Lead the business: Own the P&L, budgets, commercial strategy and overall performance.
Work directly with the Founder: Act as her close partner and representative, with the freedom to run the studio as your own.
Build the team: Recruit and lead the studio team.
Shape the yoga offering: Attract outstanding teachers, develop the class schedule and deliver a consistently excellent experience.
Deliver the member experience: Bring neighbourhood warmth together with premium hospitality standards.
Create a community: Build meaningful relationships with members and make the studio a destination people love returning to.
Drive growth: Develop the partnerships, marketing initiatives and events that strengthen the brand and grow the business.
Deliver operational excellence: Oversee the smooth running of the studio and keep standards high across every detail.
The Person
Substantial experience managing a business or venue, ideally in yoga, fitness, wellness or hospitality, with direct responsibility for financial performance.
Strong commercial acumen, including managing budgets, costs and revenue.
A natural sense of ownership, treating the business as their own.
A very polished, professional presence, able to represent the Founder and the brand with credibility at every level.
The judgement and maturity to work closely with the Founder and earn her trust.
Experience recruiting, managing and developing teams.
An exceptional understanding of customer experience, hospitality and service.
A practical, solutions-focused approach and a willingness to get involved in every aspect of the business.
Warm energy, strong judgement, and the drive to turn a new concept into a thriving business.
Strong communication and people skills.
Excellent organisation and prioritisation, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities and keep the bigger picture in view.
