Responsibilities
Conduct regular inspections of highways, bridges, and associated structures to assess their condition.
Identify maintenance needs and document findings accurately and comprehensively.
Ensure compliance with relevant safety regulations and standards during inspections.
Collaborate with engineering teams to develop maintenance and repair plans for identified issues.
Communicate effectively with contractors, local authorities, and stakeholders regarding inspection findings and maintenance requirements.
Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records of inspections conducted and maintenance performed.
Monitor ongoing construction or maintenance activities to ensure compliance with specifications and timelines.
Requirements
Proven experience as a highways inspector or in a similar role within civil engineering or construction.
Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various inspection sites as required.
Strong knowledge of highway construction practices, materials, and safety regulations.
Excellent observation skills with strong attention to detail in identifying potential hazards or deficiencies.
Ability to work independently and make informed decisions in the field.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for interaction with team members and stakeholders.
Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation purposes, including familiarity with inspection software. Hours Per Week: 35.00

Pay Per Annum: £24.06
