Your Role
You will work closely with class teachers and other members of the school team to help pupils get the most from their education.
Depending on the needs of the school, you may support pupils across different year groups, assisting with classroom activities, targeted interventions and individual learning.
The role will allow you to build practical skills in classroom support, pupil engagement, behaviour management and child development .
Key Responsabilities
Your responsibilities are likely to include:
- Assisting teachers with the preparation and delivery of classroom activities.
- Working with individual pupils and small groups to reinforce learning.
- Providing additional support with English, mathematics and reading .
- Helping pupils stay focused, engaged and confident during lessons.
- Supporting children who require additional help with their learning.
- Working with pupils with SEND and adapting activities where appropriate.
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping create a productive classroom atmosphere.
- Preparing, organising and maintaining classroom resources.
- Helping pupils develop independence and effective learning routines.
- Building positive relationships with children and acting as a positive role model.
- Sharing observations about pupil engagement and progress with teaching staff.

You will ideally have:
- A 2:1 degree or above .
- A genuine interest in primary education and child development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, caring and approachable personality.
- The confidence to work effectively as part of a school team.
- A proactive attitude and willingness to take responsibility.
- The ability to remain calm and professional in a busy classroom.
- A genuine desire to learn and develop through working alongside experienced teachers.
Experience working with children is advantageous. This could include tutoring, mentoring, coaching, volunteering, childcare or youth work , although it is not essential.
