Reception Teaching Assistant (SEN & Personal Care) Location: Hammersmith & Fulham, London Start Date: July 2026 Contract: Full Time, Temporary Salary: £16–£19 per hour Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training. Pay is determined in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable. Are you a caring and experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting young children with additional needs? Teach Now is recruiting a dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant (SEN & Personal Care) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Fulham. This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support for a Reception-aged pupil with additional needs, helping them settle into school life, develop confidence, and access learning successfully. The school is looking for a compassionate and proactive individual who is comfortable supporting personal care needs and understands the importance of creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young learners. The Role As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will: • Provide dedicated 1:1 support within a Reception classroom • Support communication, engagement and emotional development • Assist with personal care requirements when needed • Encourage independence, social interaction and positive learning behaviours • Support transitions, routines and structured learning activities • Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider support team • Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment Requirements • Previous experience supporting young children, ideally within EYFS or Reception • Experience supporting pupils with SEN • Comfortable carrying out personal care duties • Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach • Strong communication and relationship-building skills • Ability to remain calm, positive and supportive throughout the school day Desirable Qualifications & Experience • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification • Experience supporting children with additional needs in a primary school setting What We Offer • Competitive pay of £16–£19 per hour • Full-time position starting July 2026 • Supportive leadership team and experienced SEND staff • Welcoming school community with a strong focus on inclusion • Opportunity for a long-term placement within a highly regarded school • Ongoing support from Teach Now throughout your placement Why work via Teach Now?
