Your role:

We are looking for a Graduate Environmental Planner to be based in Brighton, Reading, Manchester or London , joining our 2026 Graduate Programme.

Our Environmental Planning team is seeking graduates with diverse skills and interests to join our growing practice. From day one, you'll be part of a collaborative community of experts, supported and mentored as you develop your career. You'll contribute to high-profile projects, engage with clients and stakeholders, and take on meaningful responsibilities that grow with you.

As a graduate, you'll gain broad experience across a variety of UK-wide schemes. We work across everything from urban residential and strategic land development to large scale infrastructure schemes in the water, energy and transport sectors.

You'll support project delivery, contribute to environmental assessments, and help shape strategies that promote sustainable outcomes. You'll also be encouraged to work towards professional chartership early in your career.

Key Responsibilities May Include:

  • Supporting site visits, surveys, and investigations
  • Working across statutory and non-statutory impact assessments
  • Undertaking desk studies, data analysis and risk assessments
  • Identifying environmental risks and proposing effective solutions
  • Preparing clear, concise technical reports and planning documents
  • Managing small-scale project delivery and budgets
  • Contributing to bids, tenders, and client proposals
  • Engaging with stakeholders and representing the business at events
  • Staying current with environmental legislation and best practices
  • Sharing technical knowledge and contributing to team development

About you:

At Stantec, we value your potential over past experience. Along with a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in environmental disciplines such as Environmental Science, Geography, Ecology, Biodiversity, Sustainability, Environmental Health, or related fields. we'd love to receive your application if you are:-

Please note, we ask our graduates to come into the office 4 days per week, to ensure that you receive sufficient time with your team and the appropriate level of support.
