Programme Officer- Youth Work - London
Thank you for your interest in a role at the MOPAC. We are excited to hear about your experiences.
Join us to make London a safer city for everyone.
We believe violence is preventable, not inevitable.
Do you have a passion for supporting communities to thrive?
Are you experienced at bringing people together and developing relationships with others to help bring about change?
Are you passionate about making a difference and understand that young people, families and communities must be the forefront of solutions to tackle violence?
If this sounds like you, then we have an exciting opportunity for a Programme Officer to join London’s Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) for a 6-month secondment. The employment dates for this secondment are 20th October 2025 – 10th April 2026 .
London’s VRU is focused on stopping violence before it happens through an approach that is rooted in prevention and early intervention.
We are a team of specialists who use our expertise to work in partnership with communities, councils, the NHS, public health, the police, schools and colleges, and charities, to co-ordinate efforts and bring about change.
The VRU is recruiting a Programme Officer to support the management, commissioning and development of work across the VRU’s youth work portfolio.
A key part of this role will be providing support on the recommissioning and mobilisation of the hospital-based youth work programme, which clinically embeds youth practitioners across the four Major Trauma Centres and high-priority Accident and Emergency Departments across the Capital.
The post holder will also provide support to the recommissioning of the VRU’s flagship programme, which focuses on supporting and upskilling the youth sector workforce (previously called Rise Up).
The successful candidate will be highly organised, proactive, and able to work collaboratively to build strong working relationships across the VRU’s internal and external partners and stakeholders. They will play an important role in ensuring effective coordination and delivery of the VRU’s priorities for violence reduction across London.
