School Type: Secondary School & Sixth Form (Co-educational)
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent or Fixed-Term

This is an exceptional opportunity for an economics specialist, whether an experienced practitioner looking to deliver high-level A-Level teaching or a passionate Early Career Teacher (ECT), to decode global markets, fiscal policy, and microeconomic behavior for an eager, high-aspiring student body.
About the Role
As a Teacher of Economics, you will bridge classroom theory with real-world financial markets, global trade dynamics, and economic policy. Joining the faculty for the spring term, you will deliver academically rigorous, discussion-driven lessons primarily across Key Stage 4 (GCSE Economics) and Key Stage 5 (A-Level Economics), developing students' quantitative analysis, data evaluation, and high-level essay writing skills.

Prepare GCSE and A-Level candidates thoroughly for national examinations using data-driven progress tracking, structured essay-coaching, and detailed diagnostic feedback routines.
Connect core economic models to contemporary global news, monetary policy shifts, labor market trends, and environmental economics to foster deep financial literacy.
Monitor, track, and evaluate student progress, offering targeted extension tasks for Oxbridge and Russell Group applicants while providing structured support for developing analysts.
Contribute positively to department enrichment, such as student economics publications, investment clubs, national essay competitions (e.g., RES Essay Competition), and university coaching.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognized teaching credential.
A strong academic degree in Economics, Finance, or a closely related quantitative/social science discipline.
Proven track record or demonstrated capability of delivering outstanding Economics teaching at Key Stage 4 and Key Stage 5 (A-Level experience is highly desirable).
Thorough knowledge of national Economics examination board specifications (e.g., Edexcel, AQA, OCR).
Superior classroom presence, strong mathematical/data interpretation skills, and an infectious enthusiasm for economic analysis and debate.
Salary & Benefits
Pay Scale: Outer London Main / Upper Pay Scale (MPS/UPS Outer London, commensurate with experience), with potential TLR opportunities available for Key Stage 5 Coordination or Social Sciences leadership.
Teachers’ Pension Scheme (TPS), comprehensive continuous professional development (CPD), structured onboarding for a smooth January transition, and access to staff health and wellbeing schemes.
