Pastoral Teaching Assistant | Lewisham
School-based Pastoral Teaching Assistant opportunity at a welcoming, well-supported Secondary School

What’s on offer:
- Full-time Pastoral Teaching Assistant position
- £24,000–£26,000 (dependant on experience)
- September start, with immediate trial day available
- Work closely with the Pastoral and Safeguarding teams
- Support with behaviour, attendance, wellbeing and transitions
- Opportunity to work 1:1 and with small groups
- Clear routes into future training (e.g., counselling, teaching, safeguarding)
About you
- Empathetic, patient and able to build strong, trusting relationships
- Confident communicating with pupils, parents and staff
- Interested in supporting mental health, wellbeing and behaviour
- Able to remain calm and consistent, even in challenging moments
- Happy to assist with restorative conversations and day-to-day pastoral issues
- Organised, reliable and able to keep accurate notes when required
- Keen to contribute positively to a school community
