Introduction

At Hall School Wimbledon , we’re seeking a passionate and skilled individual to join us as Head of Drama and Head of Key Stage 3 (KS3). This unique role offers an opportunity to lead Drama across our secondary phase while also overseeing pastoral care, personal development, and academic progress for students in Years 7–9. You’ll play a pivotal role shaping our students’ creativity, confidence, communication skills, and understanding of others.

Responsibilities

• Lead and Inspire: Champion excellence in Drama, inspiring outstanding teaching, learning, and student achievement.
• Develop Curriculum: Shape and deliver an ambitious, inclusive, and engaging Drama curriculum that nurtures creativity and talent.
• Productions and Performances: Plan and lead exciting whole-school productions, performances, and enrichment opportunities that bring our community together.
• Pastoral Leadership: Lead pastoral care, behaviour, attendance, and personal development for KS3 students, helping every student thrive.
• Support Form Tutors: Support and develop KS3 Form Tutors and deliver inspiring weekly assemblies.
• Student Guidance: Guide students through key stages of their educational journey, including transition support and GCSE options advice.
• Professional Development: Coach and develop colleagues, share best practice, and contribute to whole-school improvement.

Requirements

• Passion for Drama: A genuine passion for Drama and ability to inspire a love of performance, creativity, and self-expression in young people.
• Excellent Classroom Practitioner: An outstanding classroom practitioner with high expectations and commitment to helping every student achieve their potential.
• Leadership Skills: Vision and confidence to lead, motivate, and develop colleagues, fostering collaboration and excellence.
• Student Wellbeing Understanding: Understanding of importance of supporting students’ wellbeing, behaviour, and academic success.
• Relationship Building Skills: Ability to build strong, positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues through clear communication and supportive approach.
• Commitment to Inclusion & Safeguarding: Fully committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and ensuring exceptional outcomes for every student.
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): QTS or equivalent qualification required.

Working Conditions

This role involves working within a vibrant co-educational day school in Wimbledon. You will be responsible for both teaching and pastoral care, requiring flexibility and strong organizational skills.

• Hours: 40 hours per week
• Contract Type: Permanent | Term Time
