Audit Manager Mandarin
Audit Manager - Mandarin Speaking
Competitive salary + benefits
North London | Hybrid working
I'm working with a well-established London accountancy firm that is looking to appoint a Mandarin-speaking Audit Manager to play a key role within its growing Far East client portfolio.
This is a particularly strong opportunity for an experienced Audit Manager who combines solid technical audit experience with excellent communication skills, commercial awareness and an understanding of Chinese-owned and international businesses.
You will work closely with the firm's Partners, taking ownership of client relationships and complex audit engagements while also helping develop the firm's presence within the Chinese and wider Far East business community.
The Role
You will manage a portfolio of predominantly international and Far East-connected businesses, acting as a key contact for clients and overseas finance teams.
The role combines audit management, international coordination, relationship management and business development, making it well suited to someone who wants to be more than simply an engagement delivery manager.
Responsibilities will include:
Managing complex audit engagements from planning through to completion
Acting as the principal contact for Mandarin-speaking clients
Working closely with Chinese-owned businesses and Far East groups
Coordinating international group audits and overseas component auditors
Managing relationships with finance teams across different jurisdictions and time zones
Working closely with Partners and Responsible Individuals on technical and audit matters
Reviewing audit files and ensuring work is ready for Partner review
Managing portfolios, WIP, billing, profitability and recoverability
Identifying audit and business risks and recommending appropriate solutions
Managing, coaching and developing audit teams
Building long-term relationships with clients and key stakeholders
Identifying opportunities to introduce tax, business services, payroll and wider advisory support
Supporting business development and helping grow the firm's Far East client base
What They're Looking For
The firm is looking for someone who can combine strong technical audit credentials with excellent client skills and an understanding of the Far East business market.
You will ideally have:
Fluent Mandarin, both spoken and written
ACA, ACCA, ICAS, ICAI or equivalent qualification
Strong external audit experience within practice
Proven experience managing complex audit engagements
Experience working with Chinese-owned businesses, Far East groups or international clients
Experience coordinating international or group audits
Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills
Good technical knowledge of audit, accounting and compliance requirements
Strong portfolio management experience
Understanding of budgets, WIP, profitability and recoverability
Experience managing and developing junior staff
Commercial awareness and the confidence to identify wider client opportunities
Strong business development and networking skills
Why Apply?
This is an opportunity to take on a genuinely influential role within an established audit practice, rather than simply managing another portfolio of audits.
You will work directly with Partners, manage important international relationships and have the opportunity to help shape and grow the firm's Far East offering.
The package includes:
Competitive salary + benefits
Hybrid working
Significant Mandarin-speaking and Far East client exposure
International and cross-border group audit work
Direct Partner interaction
Genuine involvement in business development
Opportunity to help grow an established specialist client portfolio
Strong long-term progression potential
This would suit an Audit Manager who enjoys building relationships, understands the Chinese business community and wants a role combining technical audit, international client management and genuine commercial responsibility.
