About the role

In this role, you will be responsible for taking charge of mechanical and electrical services in project delivery. You will work closely with clients, design teams, colleagues, and stakeholders to monitor and report on costs and risks throughout all stages of the project.

As a Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will be working on a hybrid basis from one of our collaborative offices (London, Brighton or Kent) whilst supporting the development of Assistant Quantity Surveyors within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Estimating and cost planning, including feasibility studies and estimates from minimal design information to detailed cost plans.
  • Preparation of tender documentation packages.
  • Attendance at site visits.
  • Completion of contract documents.
  • Involvement in Value Engineering exercises.
  • Negotiation of final accounts.
  • Update and monitor cost and revenue profiles through resource management.
  • Negotiations with contractors to establish budgets.
  • Provide full contractual advice pre and post contract to other design team members and clients.
  • Settlement of final account packages, including negotiation of claims.
  • Check the quality and completeness of professional fee proposals.
  • Actively participate in the training and development of Assistant Quantity Surveyors.
  • Other duties as required.

Requirements

  • Chartered accreditation preferred, but not essential.
  • Extensive experience in a similar role within construction.
  • Ability to manage larger and more complex projects throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Excellent technical and project knowledge.
  • Strong ability to manage fees and assist with fee bids.
  • Proven track record in generating new business through client relations.
  • Strong knowledge of CDM and construction Health & Safety.
