PLUMBER

SUBJECT TO REVIEW:

Under the direction of the Maintenance Leader or designate, the Plumber is responsible for performing skilled plumbing-related work associated with drainage and sanitary sewage systems, domestic water systems, hydronic heating/cooling systems, water purification systems, vacuum systems, and other related systems at a variety of locations. The incumbent conducts the duties of a Plumber as laid out by the Ontario College of Trades and Apprenticeship Act and in accordance with the Plumbing Code and By-Laws to protect against injury, facility damage and school day losses.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Unless otherwise stated, the minimum requirements of the above position include that the candidate(s) be able to perform the duties of the position in a safe and efficient manner and be able to follow verbal and written instructions. Successful applicant must demonstrate ability to understand and respond to the needs of diverse school communities.

  • Completion of Ontario College of Trades Plumber (306A) Program (or Provincial/Territorial equivalent with Red Seal Endorsement (RSE)).

  • Certified and Registered Plumber (306A) as recognized by the Ontario College of Trades (or Provincial/Territorial equivalent with Red Seal Endorsement (RSE))

  • Valid Ontario Drivers’ License.

  • Clean Driver’s Record

  • Five (5) years previous experience working as a Plumber in a large commercial, industrial or institutional setting.

  • First Aid Certificate including CPR, an asset


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Five (5) years previous experience working as a Plumber in a large commercial, industrial or institutional setting.

RATE OF PAY: $40.50 per hour
HOURS: 0630-1500, 40 paid hours per week
