Assistant Accountant

Assistant Accountant A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Accountant to join a dynamic finance team within a luxury travel company. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for detail, strong analytical abilities, and a passion for growing within the accounting sector. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your responsibilities will help maintain smooth daily financial operations and ensure precise financial reporting.

Key Responsibilities

• Process daily receipts
• Perform daily multi-currency bank reconciliations
• Post and reconcile credit card transactions
• Manage merchant queries and chargebacks
• Generate financial reports
• Maintain dashboards for sales tracking
• Conduct cashflow updates on a weekly/monthly basis
• Update contract data under IFRS 16
• Support month-end financial procedures
• Conduct intercompany reconciliations
• Post revenue and reconcile commissions at month-end
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations
• Assist in reviewing Profit & Loss statements
• Manage expense systems and associated reporting
• Support audit processes during year-end reviews

Assistant Accountant – Skills & Experience Required:

• Previous experience in a similar finance / accounting role, with travel sector experience being beneficial but not essential.
• Strong Excel skills
• Exceptional numerical and analytical abilities
• Experience using Microsoft Accounting Systems
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Strong written & verbal communication skills
• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines effectively
• Enthusiasm to grow and develop within the accounting field
