Subject to formal establishment amendment a vacancy will arise for a Squadron Leader (Aircrew WSO (Any) Engineering Eng (AS) Cyberspace Eng (CE) or Ground Combat & Security Prov to serve as MUSTANG SO2 Security/Digital Staff Officer in Capability Delivery (Combat Air) Air Capability at RAF High Wycombe on Full Time Reserve Service (Limited Commitment) Terms and Conditions of Service (TCoS) with an initial proposed start date of 04 May 2026 (or earlier/later subject to candidates status).

This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal leading role in assisting with the delivery of 4 Projects under the Portfolio MUSTANG ( M odernisation of the U K s T raining A ir Infrastructure for the N ext G eneration Portfolio) which will provide essential operational readiness training (ORT) for Front Line Force Elements principally the Combat Air Force. The successful applicant will provide the specialist Security/Digital Role working directly for the MUSTANG Portfolio Director (SO1) and will support the projects from the start of the Concept Phase and steer them through the CADMID Cycle. Working with a multi-disciplinary team of service personnel civil servants and contractors the role will be hybrid and office-based but there will also be opportunities for some national and international travel.

Position responsibilities:

• Act as the lead Security SME.
• Act as lead Digital SME.
• Act as lead Data SME.
• Act as lead Communications/Signals SME.
• Support all 4 Projects in artifact generation.
• Ensure Secure by Design (SbD) is embedded in all projects.
• Provide SME advice on all Security Digital Data and Communication matters.
• Lead the DLOD/Stakeholder engagement concerning Security Digital Data and Communications.
• Assist with the generation and input to all documentation required to get through the internal approvals process inc but not limited to generation of: C ONEMP CONUSE URD SRD Business Cases SbD documentation SAL Security Digital Data and Communication strategies and any other documents required for the procurement.
• Provide support to the Portfolio Director and SRO for the MUSTANG Portfolio.
• Ensure that the Security Digital Data and Communication risks are correctly identified assessed and managed by DLOD and escalate to programme level if necessary.
• Providing Air Cap SME input into appropriate Air Capability Audit Management and Development.
• Developing professional knowledge skills and attitudes which bring benefit to the role and enhance role effectiveness.
• Supporting the HQ Air Cmd and Air Capability battle rhythm of meetings as required.
• Supporting Hd and AH CA in maintaining key stakeholder relationships across Air other TLBs Partner Nations & Industry and informing them of new technology.

Required Experience:

Staff IC
