Job Title: Mechanical Estimator Location: Office-Based – WC1, Central London Company: Tier One M&E Contractor Salary: Competitive + Package (DOE) Sector: Commercial | Data Centres | Healthcare | Residential | Sports & Leisure Project Values: Up to £15 Million Company Turnover: Circa £60 Million The Company We are working exclusively with a leading, well-established Tier One M&E contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex and high-value mechanical and electrical installations across London. With a turnover of approximately £60 million, they operate across a broad spectrum of major project sectors including commercial offices, data centres, healthcare, high-end residential, and large-scale leisure and sports developments. Due to continued success and a healthy project pipeline, they are now looking to strengthen their pre-construction team with the addition of an experienced Mechanical Estimator, based full-time in their Central London (WC1) office. The Role As a Mechanical Estimator, you will be a key part of the pre-construction team, responsible for accurately pricing mechanical packages on high-value M&E projects (up to £15 million). You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and supply chain partners to prepare competitive, technically sound, and commercially viable estimates. Key Responsibilities * Preparation and submission of detailed mechanical estimates and tender returns * Take-offs from drawings and specifications (mechanical HVAC, public health, etc.) * Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotations * Cost planning, value engineering, and risk assessment * Working closely with the pre-construction, commercial, and project delivery teams * Assisting in tender adjudication and client presentations * Maintaining a library of pricing data and benchmark costs Requirements * Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Mechanical Estimator within the building services/M&E sector * Strong understanding of mechanical systems and market rates * Previous experience working on projects ranging from £5m to £15m in M&E value * Proficient with estimation software (e.g., Ensign, Trimble, or similar) * Excellent analytical and communication skills * Highly organised with attention to detail * Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines Why Apply? * Work with a leading M&E contractor on prestigious London projects * Be part of a knowledgeable, supportive, and established pre-construction team * Central London office location with excellent transport links * Strong long-term pipeline of work and financial stability * Genuine career progression opportunities
