IPTV Support Engineer
The Role
We are looking for an IPTV Support Engineer to support the management of our IPTV and digital signage systems across our club. You will actively coordinate requests from internal and external stakeholders, ensuring media is scheduled and displayed on the relevant screens at the right time.
You will also be responsible for resolving any reported technical issues and requests with the systems in a timely manner.
Who we are
We are one of the most famous clubs in world football, with a rich heritage and history of success – read more about our history, here .
Beyond that, we are passionate about our local community and, behind the scenes, we have a wide variety of opportunities and career paths for all. We have a very defined purpose: to act for a winning team, culture and community. We achieve this by ensuring we are courageous in the pursuit of progress, we champion our community and each other, and that we do the right thing (even when no one is looking).
Your day-to-day
- Champion our IPTV systems - you will passionately assist with the management of our IPTV and digital signage systems across The Emirates Stadium, Highbury House, The Arsenal Museum, Hale End Academy, Sobha Realty Training Centre, The Community Hub and our Retail stores; proactively making sure our IPTV system is patched and updated
- Coordinate and deliver internal requests - you’ll actively organise internal department requests to ensure media is being scheduled and displayed on the relevant screens at the right time, ensuring all communication is delivered in a timely manner
- Collaborate with our Brand team - you will attentively assist our Brand team to ensure their ideas and concepts work on our IPTV system, ensuring the media output meets our club’s branding guidelines
- Take ownership of troubleshooting - you’ll capture and resolve any reported technical issues with the system to ensure they are efficiently resolved, liaising with our IPTV suppliers to raise and resolve any support tickets that go beyond in house support
- Install and maintain our equipment - you will diligently install and replace faulty TVs and IPTV players in conjunction with our Facilities Management team, ensuring these align with full health and safety considerations and best practices
- Support our matchday and non-matchday events - you’ll work with our Stadium Management department and support across matchday and key non-matchday events, developing emergency signage and protocols and ensuring they are operational prior to events by carrying out pre-match checks
What we are looking for
- Background in a similar technical role - you possess experience working in a commercial event environment with knowledge of the hardware and software components to deliver IPTV and digital signage solutions
- Technical expertise - you’re equipped with knowledge on using Wipro, Vision Edge or other digital signage platforms, video encoders, video / audio protocols, technical specifications and TV broadcast technology (HTML and CSS experience desirable)
- A natural resolver - you have a passion for problem solving with a keen curiosity for uncovering potential issues, with the ability to patch and debug our IPTV systems whilst managing conflicting requirements and multiple demands concurrently
- Best-in-class system knowledge - you come with a track record of using media scheduling and content management systems, digital and broadcast workflows, media asset management tools, encoders and playout systems and you have an appreciation of video and audio editing techniques
- Dynamic communicator - you’ve got excellent communication skills and you’re able to confidently liaise with suppliers to ensure all equipment is kept up to date and relevant
- Proactive approach - you’re proud of your driven work ethic and ability to work under pressure with a strong willingness to learn and comprehend new concepts with a result-orientated mindset
