The individual will also have a key role in championing the Global, Securitised and Sterling Fixed Income product offering and will ensure an effective “link” between the portfolio management teams, distribution (both locally and globally), RFP, CP and various client segment teams

Whilst the individual will work closely with the portfolio management team, the role is primarily focused on supporting sales, RFP and marketing activities associated to the capability, as well as supporting the Senior Investment Specialist covering the asset class in achieving the objectives attached to his/her function:

The successful candidate will combine technical market knowledge with excellent communication skills and a proven ability to engage effectively with a broad range of stakeholders

As a HSBC employee in the UK, you will have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

In this role you will:

  • Provide regular training/key insights/sales arguments for sales teams on key strengths and develop effective messaging for overcoming obstacles
  • Proactively spot strengths and weaknesses to drive consultant positioning for competitive capabilities
  • Provide content to answer clients and sales’ requests for non-standard information
  • Produce regular commentary and updates to marketing and RFP material
  • Proactively drive more effectively RFPs content and marketing materials
  • Produce thought leadership to include written materials for external publication
  • Provide forward-looking direction for the evolution of capability

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Strong understanding of fixed income and bond markets, including industry trends, market developments and the competitive landscape, with demonstrable experience supporting investment teams, clients and business development activities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex investment concepts clearly and effectively to a range of audiences.
  • Highly developed interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to build strong relationships across investment teams, clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Experience producing marketing materials, client presentations, RFPs and other business development collateral for fixed income investment strategies.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and consistently deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Bloomberg and Microsoft Office applications, with fluency in English; additional language skills would be advantageous.
  • Relevant industry qualifications such as CFA, IMC or equivalent professional accreditation, or a demonstrable commitment to ongoing professional development.
  • A collaborative approach, high professional standards, intellectual curiosity and a genuine passion for financial markets and investment management, alongside knowledge of, or a strong interest in, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and emerging technologies and their application across investment management, client engagement and business development.
