The general purpose of the Kitchen Porter & Stockperson role is to keep all supplies and consumables in the lounge and satellite kitchen floors stocked and ready for use. In addition to the main function of stocking, this role will also include lounge maintenance and cleanliness, food preparation, food service and cleaning stations/dishwashing.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Maintain stock levels of all front-of-house supplies and consumables, including beverages, snacks, coffee, tea, cutlery, napkins, and condiments across five floors
  • Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and presentation of all lounge areas, satellite kitchens, storage facilities, and cleaning supply rooms.
  • Monitor inventory levels, maintain accurate stock records, and receive, organize, and store food, beverage, and operational deliveries.
  • Clean, replenish, and prepare coffee machines daily to support beverage service across all floors.
  • Support the Head Chef and kitchen team by coordinating equipment maintenance requests and promptly reporting faulty or damaged equipment.
  • Assist with the execution of daily food service operations, including grab-and-go replenishment, food preparation, breakfast and lunch service support, food plating, and service delivery across multiple floors.
  • Provide support for corporate events, BBQs, salad bar operations, and other catering requirements as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and operational readiness of food service equipment, including bar areas, coolers, ice machines, dishwashing stations, and related facilities.
  • Oversee the setup, replenishment, collection, and cleaning of glassware, crockery, and cutlery, ensuring efficient dishwashing and service support.
  • Manage waste disposal and post-service cleaning activities, including rubbish removal, floor sanitation, and maintaining hygienic work areas.

Working conditions:

  • Work involves potential hazards, including handling cleaning chemicals, hot liquids, and sharp objects.
  • Position operates in a fast-paced, high-pressure setting and requires meeting daily deadlines.
  • Must work safely and responsibly alongside staff in a shared environment.
  • General working hours are 7am-4pm with potential for varying hours of work when required.
  • Some overtime is required for events

 Requirements:

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving heavy objects safely.
  • Comfortable standing and working on your feet for extended periods throughout the day.
  • Capable of regularly walking up and down stairs to access storage areas, stockrooms, and refrigeration units.
  • Adaptable and flexible in responding to changing operational needs and priorities.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative approach and willingness to support colleagues across departments.
  • Applicants must have sufficient spoken and written English skills to understand health and safety procedures, follow instructions, and communicate effectively with colleagues and customers.
