Part-time Nanny-Housekeeper in Hackney, London, Job ID J1F639R
This lovely family based in Hackney, London, is looking for a Part-time Nanny-Housekeeper to take care of their 2 school-aged children while keeping their house clean. All general Nanny-Housekeeping duties are required in this role. This position is a dynamic blend of active childcare and essential household management. The successful candidate will support the children’s daily routines—including school pickups, homework, and evening activities—while using their initiative to manage household upkeep, such as meal preparation, laundry, and maintaining an orderly home. The family is looking for someone comfortable around dogs and happy to assist with their basic care. Flexibility is essential, as the family requires someone able to pick up additional hours during school holidays. They value a coaching-led approach and a "can-do" attitude to help their family life run smoothly and happily. A valid first-aid qualification is needed for this position.
Working hours: Tuesday: 3:00 pm to 7:30 pm Wednesday: 3:00 pm to 7:30 pm Thursday: 3:00 pm to 7:30 pm Friday: 3:00 pm to 6:30 pm Flexibility to pick up additional hours during the holiday period.
Duties include:
- Collecting the children from school and escorting them to activities
- Supervising and caring for the children in a safe, calm and positive environment
- Ensuring safety and hygiene at all times
- Checking school bags daily for letters, messages or required actions
- Homework supervision
- Supporting evening routines and preparation
- Encouraging emotional literacy, good manners and confidence
- Balancing play, learning and creative activities
- Supporting discipline and family values
- Limiting screen time in line with household rules
- Administering medication with parental consent
- Providing regular updates to parents Desirable Additional Skills (Not Essential)
- Maths homework support
- Experience supporting 11+ preparation
- Preparing nutritious, balanced meals for the children
- Preparing packed lunches
- Cooking for the family when required
- Weekly meal planning
- Clearing away after meals, homework and play
- Leaving the home orderly at the end of each shift
- Folding household laundry
- Putting children’s clothes away and preparing clothes and bags for the following day
- Emptying the dishwasher and cleaning used pots and pans
