Category Manager - Grocery Channel

- Category product knowledge experience
- A Commercial degree (preferably in Business Management or Marketing Management)
- 3+ years commercial experience in marketing, purchasing or customer account management
- Proficient in reading and analyzing data from multiple sources to create business supportive pictures/stories to demonstrate opportunities in existing and new business areas
- Demonstrable project management, strategic planning & implementation
- Excellent communication skills
- Comfortable presenting on all levels both internally & externally
- Good understanding of ROI and budget management
- Experience of influencing commercial strategy/direction
- Willingness to travel when needed (UK)
What we offer
Salary: gross £50-55K
Office-Based Contract: 50% in-office attendance
Bonus: Up to 12.5% annual bonus

Vacancy description
As Category Manager for the Grocery Channel, you’ll lead the development and execution of customer and channel strategies, ensuring alignment with FrieslandCampina UK’s broader commercial goals. This includes identifying growth opportunities, shaping trade stories for new product launches, and collaborating closely with Sales and Marketing to deliver impactful initiatives across key accounts.You’ll be the go-to expert for business intelligence and category development, responsible for gathering and analyzing data from multiple sources to uncover actionable insights. From monitoring promotional effectiveness to managing research projects and dashboards, your work will directly influence decision-making and optimize performance across campaigns and channels.Financial and performance management are central to the role. You’ll evaluate promotional activities against budget and objectives, build a library of case studies to inform future planning, and track SKU performance to flag variances. Your insights will help refine promotional strategies and ensure commercial activities deliver strong ROI.
Collaboration is key—you’ll work across teams and functions, including CCD, Sales, and external agencies, to ensure data needs are met and strategies are well-informed. With a strong grasp of shopper insight, category dynamics, and channel profitability, you’ll play a pivotal role in driving visibility, distribution, and growth in the grocery retail space.
