Food Technician - Ilford
A well-regarded and dynamic secondary school in Ilford is seeking a reliable, organised, and proactive Food Technician to join their Food Technology department. This is a full-time, permanent role starting ASAP, providing vital practical support for teachers and students across Key Stages 3 and 4.
About the Role
As a Food Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of practical food lessons. Your responsibilities will include preparing ingredients, equipment, and resources, supporting teachers and students during lessons, and maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organised learning environment.
You will also manage departmental stock, assist with administrative tasks, and support enrichment activities such as food competitions, cooking clubs, and special projects. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to supporting both staff and students.
Key Responsibilities
• Preparing ingredients, tools, and equipment for practical lessons
• Setting up and clearing food workspaces efficiently
• Maintaining hygiene and health and safety standards in the food rooms
• Assisting teachers and students during practical sessions
• Monitoring stock levels and assisting with ordering materials
• Supporting food-related events, competitions, and extracurricular activities
• Assisting with departmental administration and record-keeping

Experience and Qualifications

• Legal right to work in the UK
