Senior Consultant - Technology Due Diligence in M&A

BearingPoint United Kingdom
London

Do you want to build unique competencies and a rewarding career in one of the fastest growing M&A advisories in Europe?

BearingPoint Capital is seeking Senior Consultants to join our global M&A team in London, specifically within our Technology Due Diligence service.

As part of BearingPoint Capital, you will have the opportunity to fast-track your career in a start-up-like environment within a large organisation, gaining competencies and skills through a wide variety of challenging M&A projects for top-tier clients. Our client base is rapidly expanding and includes Private Equity firms, family offices, corporates, and strategic investors.

Our M&A service offerings are designed for companies where technology is central to the business strategy and investment thesis. You will join a highly skilled and driven team working on both local and international engagements. We are looking for high-performing candidates with a passion for technology to support our clients in technology due diligence and tech-enabled M&A advisory, distinct from corporate finance or valuation work .

About BearingPoint Capital

BearingPoint Capital is a business unit part of the global management consultancy BearingPoint. Capital is a smaller, global team that delivers M&A advisory services on both the sell-side and buy-side in transactions. Our service offerings include M&A strategy consulting, commercial and technological due diligence. In addition to M&A advisory, Capital is responsible for managing BearingPoint's own corporate portfolio, as well as our investments in Ventures.

BearingPoint Capital draws on BearingPoint’s global consultancy network – with more than 6,500 employees helping leading companies in more than 75 countries achieve measurable and lasting success.

Your primary tasks will include:

  • Technology Due Diligence Execution: Lead and contribute to buy- and sell-side technology due diligence engagements. This includes evaluating IT strategy, architecture, infrastructure, and organisational capabilities to assess technology maturity, scalability, and alignment with business objectives.
  • Product Due Diligence: Support the assessment of product strategy, roadmap, and functional/ feature differentiation as part of broader due diligence engagements, helping clients understand product maturity (versus competitors) and alignment with business goals.
  • Tech Financials Advisory: Provide expert input on IT financials, including detailed analysis of operating and capital expenditures (Opex/Capex), synergy modelling, IT carve-out costing, benchmarking, and cost estimation. Help clients understand the financial implications of technology decisions in the context of M&A.
  • Proposal & Pitch Development: Collaborate with leadership to develop tailored proposals and sales pitches for prospective clients. This includes identifying client needs, shaping engagement approaches, and articulating the value of BearingPoint Capital’s technology advisory services.
  • Practice Development & Mentoring: Play an active role in developing the M&A Technology practice by refining methodologies, tools, and knowledge assets. Mentor junior team members, providing guidance and feedback to support their professional growth and ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Cross-Border Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across Europe on engagements spanning multiple industries and geographies. Leverage the firm’s international network to bring diverse perspectives and best practices to client projects.
  • Strategic Execution: Support the execution of BearingPoint’s firmwide M&A strategy, including involvement in internal portfolio reviews, venture investments, and strategic initiatives that shape the future of the firm’s advisory capabilities.

We are looking for top-performing individuals with the following characteristics and background:

  • 4–5+ years of relevant work experience, including at least 3 years in industry and/or a technology company with a complex IT landscape, ideally in a senior business analyst or consulting role
  • Proven experience in executing technology due diligence engagements
  • Exposure to IT separation and integration projects is a plus, though not mandatory
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrable experience in IT Opex/Capex analysis, synergy modelling, carve-out costing, benchmarking, and cost estimation
  • Business-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate ambiguity and deliver results under pressure
  • Collaborative team player with experience mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to a supportive team culture
  • Excellent communication skills, with a track record of producing high-quality written reports and client presentations
  • MBA, Master’s or Bachelor’s degree from a leading university, with a strong academic record

For the right candidate, we can offer:

  • Exciting career prospects with possibilities to learn and grow as fast as you can handle
  • Exposure to the development and execution of our firmwide M&A strategy, including venture investments
  • Exposure to both our technology due diligence and advisory (commercial due diligence) work streams
  • Collaboration with top-tier clients, including leading Private Equity firms, family offices and strategic investors
  • Highly competent and down to earth colleagues
  • An informal and “easy to work with” culture
  • Competitive compensation and benefits
  • Office in Central London
