Interim Accounting Technician (Schools Finance) – Local authority
London Hybrid – 2 days on–site
Up to GBP400 per day Inside IR35 Interim contract
A London local authority to recruit an Interim Accounting Technician to support its schools finance function.
This is a hands–on role supporting the day–to–day financial administration of the service, with a strong focus on journals, reconciliations, data management and spreadsheet–based analysis.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Processing and reviewing journals Completing balance sheet and other financial reconciliations
- Managing and maintaining schools finance data Supporting general finance administration
- Producing and maintaining spreadsheets, trackers and reports Investigating discrepancies and resolving data issues
- Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc financial tasks
The successful candidate will have:
- Previous local government finance experience – essential
- Strong Excel and general IT skills Experience of journals, reconciliations and financial administration
- Good attention to detail and confidence working with large volumes of data
- The ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
- Previous schools finance experience would be highly desirable
