As a Relief Security Officer , you’ll do more than protect what matters — you’ll help create safe, professional, and welcoming corporate environments where people can work with confidence. Your presence as a Relief Security Officer will reassure clients, employees, and visitors alike, combining excellent customer service with strong security awareness. This role has a clear focus on client satisfaction, professionalism, and protection across high‑profile corporate sites , primarily in Canary Wharf and surrounding areas.

Whether you’re managing reception and access control, carrying out patrols, or stepping in at short notice to cover sickness or staffing shortfalls, as a Security Officer you’ll be a reliable and trusted part of the on‑site team. Working across modern corporate environments, every shift brings new interactions, challenges, and opportunities to make a positive impact.

Job Description

What you'll be doing:

• Provide short‑notice relief security cover across multiple corporate sites, ensuring continuity of operations during staff absence or shortages.
• Deliver a high‑visibility security presence within corporate buildings, maintaining a safe and professional environment at all times.
• Control access to premises through reception duties, ID verification, visitor management, and pass issuance.
• Conduct regular patrols, monitoring for suspicious activity, safety hazards, or breaches of site procedures.
• Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, alarms, and emergencies, escalating issues in line with site and company protocols.
• Complete accurate incident reports, shift logs, and handovers, ensuring clear communication between teams.
• Operate and monitor CCTV, access control, and alarm systems in compliance with data protection and site policies.
• Liaise professionally with clients, staff, contractors, and emergency services, providing a customer‑focused approach in corporate settings.
• Adapt quickly to different site requirements and procedures, maintaining consistent standards across all Canary Wharf locations.
• Uphold company values of integrity, vigilance, and helpfulness, acting as a trusted representative of the organisation at all times.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

We’re looking for someone who values teamwork, shows initiative, and wants to grow. Ideally, you’ll have:

• A valid SIA licence. 
• Flexibility to work days, nights, and weekends.
• The right to work in the UK, with a 5-year checkable history.
• Strong communication skills in English—both written and spoken.
