Shape the next generation of psychology graduates — from anywhere
We’re seeking an experienced and student-focused Online Lecturer in Psychology to join our Academic Team on a part-time basis. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic, postgraduate learning environment, delivering high-quality teaching and supervision in a fully online setting.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in supporting students through their academic journey — from taught modules through to dissertation — bringing subject expertise, thoughtful guidance, and a strong understanding of inclusive, engaging digital learning.
With a particular focus on individual differences, quantitative research methods, and dissertation supervision, you’ll help students develop the critical thinking, analytical, and research skills essential for success in psychology and beyond.
What you’ll be doing
Deliver engaging, high-quality online teaching across postgraduate psychology modules
Design and assess coursework in line with academic standards and best practice
Supervise student dissertations, with a focus on quantitative research methods
Provide pastoral and academic support through personal tutoring
Foster an inclusive and supportive online learning community
Contribute to teaching on a BPS-accredited programme, ensuring standards and expectations are met
Work collaboratively with academic colleagues to enhance the student experience
About you
You’re an academic who combines subject expertise with a genuine commitment to student success. You’re confident working in online environments and are passionate about creating meaningful, interactive learning experiences.
Essential
A PhD in Psychology
Experience of teaching within postgraduate higher education
Eligibility for Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA)
Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to team working
Experience teaching on a BPS-accredited programme
Experience teaching cognitive and/or biological psychology and quantitative research methods
A strong track record of supervising student dissertations
Desirable
Experience of and enthusiasm for online or blended learning delivery
Membership of, or eligibility for membership of, the British Psychological Society (BPS)
Experience supporting students in a personal tutor capacity

This is a part-time role initially on a 6 month FTC , with the potential for extension.
