Junior Store Designer
We are looking for a Junior Store Designer to join Team OB in our Support Office.
As a Junior Store Designer at OB, you will help to create visually exciting and memorable new retail spaces. Using a strong attention to detail and a drive to understand how things are made, you will be instrumental in the design and development of new display fixtures and fittings, demonstrating a deep understanding of our products and how best to display them.
Reporting to the Store Design Manager, you will work closely with senior members of the business including the Head of Store Design, Art Director and the Visual Merchandising team, sharing knowledge, creative vision and expertise to deliver successful designs for new and existing stores across the UK.
You will be organised and able to work across multiple projects at one time, as well as assisting the team in a wide range tasks, in all stages of the project life-cycle from initial concept and mood boards, right through to construction on site and eventual handover to the Retail team.
Our Support Office is based in Tolworth, near Chessington, only a 30-minute journey from London Waterloo. We offer hybrid working with a split of 3 days in the office and 2 days home working per week, and are open to having conversations about working flexibly.

An OB Junior Store Designer will:
• Assist with the survey of the existing retail estate and take the lead in compiling an up to date and accurate CAD Library
• Support the production of full detailed design drawing packs ready for internal approvals and submissions to statutory bodies and landlords
• Work alongside the Store Design Manager & Head of Store Design in the development of fixture designs and concepts for displaying product for stores in new and exciting ways
• Detail up design of new fixtures to go to suppliers for fabrication, working alongside fabricators to ensure new designs are achievable
• Attend site visits with senior team & oversee installation of bespoke fixtures
• Assist with placing orders with OB client directs
• Build strong working relationships with the store roll out teams/departments and shop fitting suppliers whilst striving to increase our supplier base
• Demonstrate a strong commercial awareness and understanding of the OB stock package in relation to shop fit and fixture design
• Research current design trends and trade shows, compile inspirational images, notes and sketches for future development to ensure department is kept informed on new technologies and materials along with managing the department materials library

What we look for:
• Relevant and transferable commercial experience in a creative retail based role
• Experience using the following programmes (or a willingness to undertake training) in programs such as Vectorworks 2D/3D, Sketchup (knowledge of Twilight or similar rendering advantageous), Adobe suite, Photoshop & InDesign, and Microsoft office suite
• Strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of and a drive to understand of how things might be made
• Strong verbal and written communication skills at all levels both internally and externally
• Have a strong affinity and connection with the OB brand and be familiar with our customer
• Enthusiasm, self confidence and self motivation
• A creative thinker with a strong commercial understanding
