About Us:

THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF THE IMPOSSIBLE DREAM

Housing and Commercial Partnerships in Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories. Where people use their vision and commitment to open doors for the next generations.

Nothing beats the feeling of helping someone find their passion. At Westminster City Council, our City Lions team helps young local people engage with culture, creativity and dreams. When they came across a lonely, isolated 16-year-old who called himself a failure, they knew what to do. They worked 1-2-1 to find the thing this boy really loved. YouTube, it turned out. But it’s impossible to turn that into a career, right? Wrong. A week later, he was enrolled on the British Film Institute film-making programme. It was the ultimate light-bulb moment. And it turned him into what he is today – a budding Spielberg with a world of opportunity at his feet.

The Role:

As an Antisocial Behaviour Case Officer, you can make your own powerful contribution to improving lives of the communities you serve. You’ll start strong as an independent case officer, leading your own case list from resident reports and making a difference with your hands-on approach.

You’ll be expected to work alongside different stakeholders in the council, like mental health, adult social care, and external partners such as police and local schools to resolve antisocial behaviour (ASB). Your list of responsibilities will include investigating reports of ASB and creating action plans like sending block letters and holding case conference meetings, exploring legal and non-legal enforcement for cases using the relevant tools, and seeking legal advice from WCC’s legal team when needed. You’ll also have to prepare court bundles for legal enforcement cases, including witness statements and attending hearings.

Be prepared to work and share best practice with colleagues in Housing Service as well as external partners. As working with ASB cases call for a level of empathy and the need to support vulnerable members of society, you’ll need to regularly attend training sessions to ensure you’re up to date with all the tools and best practice. Addressing ASB within agreed service level agreements and meeting the set KPIs as a team are also important.

Please refer to the for more information.

About You:

Prior experience in a relevant or adaptable environment and a knowledge of Housing and ASB legislation are important to be successful in this role. You’ll need to also be familiar with managing independent caseload, working with members of the public and different stakeholders, and managing challenging behaviours.

Resilience while working through complex cases, an ability to manage your time to meet deadlines, and showing initiative when investigating reports of ASB are all skills that will help you thrive. You should also be an excellent communicator, with the ability to show empathy when dealing with residents and be able to work in conjunction with them to take positive action.

Westminster City Council is committed to supporting Care Leavers into the workplace. Care Leavers seeking their first job and who wish to be considered under our scheme, will automatically be invited to interview should they meet the essential criteria for the role.
