Bija is an independent coffee shop proudly serving single-origin Indonesian coffee in the heart of St James’s Market, Piccadilly. We’re committed to delivering exceptional coffee experiences, warm hospitality, and a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. In May, Bija was honoured with the “Best New Coffee Shop of the Year” award at the London Coffee Festival 2025.

*THE ROLE

We’re looking for enthusiastic and skilled baristas to join our growing team. At Bija, you’ll be part of a small, dedicated crew passionate about coffee and customer service. Whether you’re behind the bar crafting beautiful drinks or supporting day-to-day operations, you’ll play a key role in creating memorable moments for our guests.

*KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based and brewed coffee drinks.

Showcase your latte art skills and take pride in the visual presentation of drinks.

Contribute to all daily operations including opening, closing, and maintaining shop standards.

Keep the coffee bar clean, organised, and operating efficiently.

Maintain and clean equipment in line with health and safety standards.

Engage warmly with customers, sharing knowledge and enthusiasm for coffee.

Thrive in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask under pressure.

*WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Previous barista experience, preferably in specialty coffee.

Passion for coffee, with a desire to learn and grow.

Knowledge of Indonesian coffee is a bonus — training will be provided.

Strong communication skills and a positive team spirit.

Flexibility to work a mix of early mornings, weekends, and bank holidays.
