Location: London / National
Salary: Up to GBP110,000 + Bonus + Equity Opportunity + Benefits
I am working with a highly regarded, director–led building consultancy that has built an outstanding reputation across the UK for delivering high–quality building surveying and project services. They operate nationally with offices in key regions and have specialist teams covering residential, commercial, and heritage portfolios. Their services range from contract administration and project management through to reinstatement cost assessments, technical due diligence, licence to alter, and specialist surveys. They are also at the forefront of retrofit and sustainability projects, helping clients future–proof their buildings.
The practice is looking to appoint a Senior Director of Building Surveying to join their leadership team. This is a key hire, with responsibility for guiding strategic growth, shaping technical delivery, and overseeing high–value projects. You will be client–facing from the outset, trusted to manage existing relationships and to develop new business opportunities. The role also comes with the opportunity to mentor and lead a talented team of surveyors, while influencing the wider direction of the consultancy.
Responsibilities
- Lead complex building surveying instructions, including multi–million–pound project management and contract administration
- Provide oversight on professional services such as dilapidations, reinstatement cost assessments, and technical due diligence
- Drive business development and support cross–discipline collaboration
- Mentor, manage, and inspire junior and senior surveyors across regional teams
- Champion innovation, sustainability, and modern surveying techniques
About You
- Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) with extensive experience at senior or director level
- Strong track record in leading large projects and delivering professional services
- Commercially astute with proven business development ability
- Excellent communication and relationship–building skills
- Inspirational leader with a genuine passion for developing teams
