Are you passionate about executing costing methodologies with discipline, speed, and clarity to deliver high-quality results? Swiss Re has an exciting opportunity for you! Join us as Head Group Actuarial Costing to drive simplified processes, eliminate inefficiencies, and ensure compliance with essential standards, delivering excellence to our costing frameworks globally.
About the Role
As the Head Group Actuarial Costing, you will lead a team of actuaries and analysts to ensure costing accuracy and pricing discipline across Swiss Re Group. Your role will involve developing consistent methodologies, monitoring performance, and governing costing frameworks. You will support new product approvals by validating pricing frameworks and assist the Group with large deals, referrals, and complex risk costing. Maintain a Group-wide costing parameter inventory and ensure its consistent maintenance at defined frequencies. Manage a central pricing database for all deals written at Swiss Re
Track Profitability and Volatility: Monitor Actual vs. Expected (AvE) performance and track costing/reserving gaps. Establish early warning mechanisms for signs of underperformance to ensure costing adequacy.
Coordinate Unified Underwriting Approach: Lead a unified underwriting approach on large loss complexes (e.g., opioid, PFAS) for consistent underwriting guidance. Support the large deal referral process and validate pricing frameworks for new product approvals.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership, underwriting teams, and other key stakeholders to ensure alignment of costing with business objectives. Foster strong relationships and effective communication across departments.
Lead a Team Effectively: Provide leadership and direction to a team of professionals. Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Mentor and support team members to achieve their full potential.
