Schedule: Core Hours – Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm, with flexibility for evening & weekend work

About the Role:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Head of Lighting to lead the creative and technical direction of our lighting teams across a variety of live events. As the Head of Lighting, you'll be the driving force behind some of our most complex and high-profile lighting productions. With a passion for blending artistic vision with technical precision, you’ll inspire and lead a team of talented lighting specialists while ensuring the seamless execution of every project.

With a minimum of 6 years' experience delivering lighting design & systems in client-facing roles, you’ll be able to guide our projects with both creativity and a strong commercial eye. Your ability to interpret client briefs and enhance them with thoughtful and innovative lighting solutions will set you apart. You will work closely with both clients and internal teams to ensure the highest standards of technical delivery and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Client Management: Maintain strong client relationships by communicating effectively in person and remotely. Understand client needs, and provide expert advice and guidance on lighting design and systems.
  • Project Leadership: Lead lighting teams across multiple projects, ensuring that each project is delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards.
  • Creative Direction: Use your expert knowledge to offer lighting solutions that elevate each production, working with clients and teams to enhance the artistic vision of every project.
  • Team Development: Mentor and inspire lighting team members, fostering an environment of continuous learning and technical growth.
  • Proposal & Quotation Management: Produce detailed lighting quotations and proposals that address client pain-points effectively and support the overall project budget and objectives.
  • Onsite Delivery: Oversee the onsite installation and execution of lighting designs, collaborating closely with other technical departments to ensure seamless integration.
  • Performance Monitoring: Provide constructive feedback to team members, helping them to develop their skills while ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards.
  • Adaptability: Respond quickly and effectively to changing project requirements, ensuring teams remain aligned and focused on delivering exceptional results.

What You Bring:

  • Experience: At least 6 years of experience in creative lighting design & systems, with a proven track record in client-facing roles.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong ability to lead, mentor, and motivate technical teams, ensuring high standards of technical delivery and team development.
  • Technical Expertise: Extensive knowledge of lighting design and equipment, with a broad understanding of related disciplines such as audio, video, and scenic technologies.
  • Client-Facing Confidence: Comfortable working closely with clients to understand their objectives, offering solutions, and managing expectations throughout the lifecycle of a project.
  • Creativity & Commercial Acumen: A balanced approach to creativity and commercial viability, ensuring the best possible outcome for clients while maintaining a healthy financial position.

What We Offer:

  • Health & Wellbeing: Comprehensive private healthcare and dental plans to keep you feeling your best.
  • Team Culture: A fun, supportive, and collaborative team environment with regular team-building activities, celebrations, and competitions.
  • Growth & Development: Access to high-spec computers and software, as well as tools and equipment to help you excel in your role.
  • Learning & Progression: Continuous learning and professional development opportunities, along with a generous pension plan for peace of mind.
  • Recognition: We celebrate milestones with a long-service reward scheme and offer opportunities to progress within the company.

Why Work With Us:

Join a company that values creativity, collaboration, and personal growth. Our team is passionate about delivering world-class experiences for our clients, and we support each other in achieving the highest standards of excellence. No two days are the same, and we offer a work environment where you can truly make an impact and enjoy the process.
